Top 10 Variables to Success in MLM/Home-based Businesses: Education/Experience

Hey Everyone,

Today I want to talk about the seventh variable on my list when it comes to success in MLM/Home based businesses: education and experience.

Allow me share my own experience. When I first started out in network marketing, I knew nothing about how to make money in the MLM industry. I had heard of Amway back in the day but that was about it. Along with my excitement about my new opportunity came anxiety. I knew that I had alot to learn and wanted to learn everything right away. I bought all the books that were available, signed up for all the training classes, etc., etc. What ended up happening was I developed what is called “analysis paralysis”. I had acquired all this learned knowledge but yet none of it really helped me make any money.

What am I trying to say here? Is education of little importance? No, education is very important. Anyone looking to have success in this industry must commit to learning, continuous learning. But perhaps what’s even more important is that there is a difference between “learned knowledge” and “activity knowledge”. All the education in the world won’t make a person wealthy. We’ve all heard the saying that “knowledge is power”. Well that’s only true if you USE that knowledge. That’s what happened to me. I believed that if I knew enough about MLM/network marketing and my business then I would make money. That didn’t happen. I needed activity. I had business partners who hadn’t read the books I read or gone to all the training I had gone to but were making money. They went out and got the experience necessary to succeed. Experience comes with time, patience, trial and error. I am not saying that education is not important, it is. But experience combined with knowledge will lead a person to more success and money than either of these two things alone.

If you’re new to the industry and have committed to acquiring knowledge about the MLM/network marketing industry, good for you. Just remember that nothing will take the place of activity which will give you the experience necessary for success.

For those of you who are very active and like to get yourself and your opportunity in front of people, take the time to educate yourself about your business, your product, your service, the industry and most importantly, yourself. Constant activity is great but make sure that you have the knowledge to know that you’re doing the right activities and moving in the right direction.

Go here to find out if, like me, you learned the wrong stuff and were engaging in the wrong activities that, if not corrected, will destroy your business.  This free report will expose these mistakes and save your business.

Top 10 Variables to Success in MLM/Home-based Businesses: Ethnicity/Race

Greetings,

Okay, so I know that I may get some backlash for this one but hear me out.The number six variable to success in MLM/Home based businesses is yes, race and/or ethnicity. Let me break it down.

Network marketing/MLM is considered an equal opportunity “opportunity” and it is. People from all different walks of life and backgrounds have had major success in this industry. Your success is what you make it. But here’s something interesting. People tend to gravitate toward and associate with whomever and whatever they are accustomed to. This is true in network marketing as well.

In my city, we have two opportunity meetings each week. They are both very different, racially, ethnically and demographically. These meetings are held in very different locations and attract very different groups of people. I found this very interesting.

I was raised in a very multicultural environment so I am comfortable around anyone. I’ve been to both  meetings and there are only a handful of people that attend both meetings, which is smart. They do not limit themselves or their prospects from an opportunity to make money from home. The rest, well I guess they only have one meeting a week and I suppose the information they have to share is only available that  night.

I have to admit something. When I used to invite prospects to an opportunity meeting, I would decide which meeting they would feel more comfortable at and would let that be their only option. If they couldn’t make it out I wouldn’t even mention the other night that we meet. Is that realy terrible? I really don’t think so.

You see, when people attend a network marketing meeting, there is already a high level of tension, maybe even skepticism. If they look around the room and everyone in there is of a different demographic then I think it’s fair to say that may only increase the tension and therefore they may say “no thank you”. Put them in a room full of excited people that look familiar, that they can relate to, and they can see themselves in those peoples shoes one day and their belief level goes up.

People are still people, and there is only so much change some people are willing to accept in order to change they’re lives. This Includes the opportunity to make money from home to secure a better future for themselves.

What else can I say. It’s human nature.

Top 10 Variables to Success in MLM/Home-based Businesses: Economics

Welcome everyone.
After a short hiatus, I am back to blogging and sharing secrets and steps to wealth creation through MLM/Home-based businesses.  A while back I shared a list of Top 10 Variables to Making Money in Multi-level marketing/Home-based businesses. Last time I covered number four which was the marketplace. Now we’re at number five which is Economics.

At this current time our economy is in turmoil. It’s all over the news, 24 hours a day and seems to be all anyone can talk about. People are losing jobs left and right and some of the biggest and most successful companies in the world are turning to our government for assistance to avoid fallout. It’s a scary time for many people but there is hope. The home-based business/network marketing industry has and always will be a great “economic stimulator”.

Here’s a quick definition to help explain how economics plays a role in.  Economics is defined as “the study of how people choose to use resources”. Scarcity also plays a major role in economics. It’s the tension between our limited resources and our unlimited wants and needs.
Money is perhaps our most limited resource right now; with time most likely falling into second place. People are choosing how they spend their money very carefully. Let me now explain what all this has to do with making money in MLM/Network Marketing.

Many of you are currently involved in network marketing, while some of you were at one time or are considering getting involved; that’s why you’re here. Economic factors will play a major role in determining the level of involvement you will have in making money in your home-based business. As I stated before, economics refers to how people use their resources. Success in MLM/Home-based business requires an investment of both time and money, which are both valuable resources.

When considering economics and making money in MLM/Home-based business, there are two directions you can take as a multi-level marketer.

First, you can allow the state of the economy to scare you into either quitting your MLM/Home-based businesses or putting it on hold. You may have concerns about lack of money or may be suffering from it now. Maybe you’re spending more time at work, either voluntary or involuntary, to make additional income to make ends meet. That extra time could be spent making money in your home-based business. You decide what a priority is for you. The choice could be between making guaranteed money at their job or spend that time on their business which may or may not produce extra income”.

On the flip side, there are people who are struggling, but choose to continue investing time and money into their MLM/Home-based business because of the bad economy! They realize that they cannot rely on a job, the economy, of the government to secure their future. They turn other people’s reason for not doing something into the reason why they should, can and will! If they were to lose their job, what would they have to fall back on? We cannot control what the economy will do, or if we will ever lose our jobs because our employers can no longer afford to pay us. What we can do is control what we put in place to make the unforeseeable a lot less painful.

You have a choice, will you allow our struggling economy to stop you from pursuing your dreams of making money in your MLM/Home-based business or will it be the motivation you need to create a more secure future for yourself and your family?

It’s your future, choose a wealthy one!
