Top 10 Variables to Success in MLM/Home-based Businesses: Education/Experience

Hey Everyone,

Today I want to talk about the seventh variable on my list when it comes to success in MLM/Home based businesses: education and experience.

Allow me share my own experience. When I first started out in network marketing, I knew nothing about how to make money in the MLM industry. I had heard of Amway back in the day but that was about it. Along with my excitement about my new opportunity came anxiety. I knew that I had alot to learn and wanted to learn everything right away. I bought all the books that were available, signed up for all the training classes, etc., etc. What ended up happening was I developed what is called “analysis paralysis”. I had acquired all this learned knowledge but yet none of it really helped me make any money.

What am I trying to say here? Is education of little importance? No, education is very important. Anyone looking to have success in this industry must commit to learning, continuous learning. But perhaps what’s even more important is that there is a difference between “learned knowledge” and “activity knowledge”. All the education in the world won’t make a person wealthy. We’ve all heard the saying that “knowledge is power”. Well that’s only true if you USE that knowledge. That’s what happened to me. I believed that if I knew enough about MLM/network marketing and my business then I would make money. That didn’t happen. I needed activity. I had business partners who hadn’t read the books I read or gone to all the training I had gone to but were making money. They went out and got the experience necessary to succeed. Experience comes with time, patience, trial and error. I am not saying that education is not important, it is. But experience combined with knowledge will lead a person to more success and money than either of these two things alone.

If you’re new to the industry and have committed to acquiring knowledge about the MLM/network marketing industry, good for you. Just remember that nothing will take the place of activity which will give you the experience necessary for success.

For those of you who are very active and like to get yourself and your opportunity in front of people, take the time to educate yourself about your business, your product, your service, the industry and most importantly, yourself. Constant activity is great but make sure that you have the knowledge to know that you’re doing the right activities and moving in the right direction.

Go here to find out if, like me, you learned the wrong stuff and were engaging in the wrong activities that, if not corrected, will destroy your business.  This free report will expose these mistakes and save your business.

Top 10 Variables to Success in MLM/Home-based Businesses: Ethnicity/Race

Greetings,

Okay, so I know that I may get some backlash for this one but hear me out.The number six variable to success in MLM/Home based businesses is yes, race and/or ethnicity. Let me break it down.

Network marketing/MLM is considered an equal opportunity “opportunity” and it is. People from all different walks of life and backgrounds have had major success in this industry. Your success is what you make it. But here’s something interesting. People tend to gravitate toward and associate with whomever and whatever they are accustomed to. This is true in network marketing as well.

In my city, we have two opportunity meetings each week. They are both very different, racially, ethnically and demographically. These meetings are held in very different locations and attract very different groups of people. I found this very interesting.

I was raised in a very multicultural environment so I am comfortable around anyone. I’ve been to both  meetings and there are only a handful of people that attend both meetings, which is smart. They do not limit themselves or their prospects from an opportunity to make money from home. The rest, well I guess they only have one meeting a week and I suppose the information they have to share is only available that  night.

I have to admit something. When I used to invite prospects to an opportunity meeting, I would decide which meeting they would feel more comfortable at and would let that be their only option. If they couldn’t make it out I wouldn’t even mention the other night that we meet. Is that realy terrible? I really don’t think so.

You see, when people attend a network marketing meeting, there is already a high level of tension, maybe even skepticism. If they look around the room and everyone in there is of a different demographic then I think it’s fair to say that may only increase the tension and therefore they may say “no thank you”. Put them in a room full of excited people that look familiar, that they can relate to, and they can see themselves in those peoples shoes one day and their belief level goes up.

People are still people, and there is only so much change some people are willing to accept in order to change they’re lives. This Includes the opportunity to make money from home to secure a better future for themselves.

What else can I say. It’s human nature.

Top 10 Variables to Success in MLM/Home-based Businesses: Economics

Welcome everyone.
After a short hiatus, I am back to blogging and sharing secrets and steps to wealth creation through MLM/Home-based businesses.  A while back I shared a list of Top 10 Variables to Making Money in Multi-level marketing/Home-based businesses. Last time I covered number four which was the marketplace. Now we’re at number five which is Economics.

At this current time our economy is in turmoil. It’s all over the news, 24 hours a day and seems to be all anyone can talk about. People are losing jobs left and right and some of the biggest and most successful companies in the world are turning to our government for assistance to avoid fallout. It’s a scary time for many people but there is hope. The home-based business/network marketing industry has and always will be a great “economic stimulator”.

Here’s a quick definition to help explain how economics plays a role in.  Economics is defined as “the study of how people choose to use resources”. Scarcity also plays a major role in economics. It’s the tension between our limited resources and our unlimited wants and needs.
Money is perhaps our most limited resource right now; with time most likely falling into second place. People are choosing how they spend their money very carefully. Let me now explain what all this has to do with making money in MLM/Network Marketing.

Many of you are currently involved in network marketing, while some of you were at one time or are considering getting involved; that’s why you’re here. Economic factors will play a major role in determining the level of involvement you will have in making money in your home-based business. As I stated before, economics refers to how people use their resources. Success in MLM/Home-based business requires an investment of both time and money, which are both valuable resources.

When considering economics and making money in MLM/Home-based business, there are two directions you can take as a multi-level marketer.

First, you can allow the state of the economy to scare you into either quitting your MLM/Home-based businesses or putting it on hold. You may have concerns about lack of money or may be suffering from it now. Maybe you’re spending more time at work, either voluntary or involuntary, to make additional income to make ends meet. That extra time could be spent making money in your home-based business. You decide what a priority is for you. The choice could be between making guaranteed money at their job or spend that time on their business which may or may not produce extra income”.

On the flip side, there are people who are struggling, but choose to continue investing time and money into their MLM/Home-based business because of the bad economy! They realize that they cannot rely on a job, the economy, of the government to secure their future. They turn other people’s reason for not doing something into the reason why they should, can and will! If they were to lose their job, what would they have to fall back on? We cannot control what the economy will do, or if we will ever lose our jobs because our employers can no longer afford to pay us. What we can do is control what we put in place to make the unforeseeable a lot less painful.

You have a choice, will you allow our struggling economy to stop you from pursuing your dreams of making money in your MLM/Home-based business or will it be the motivation you need to create a more secure future for yourself and your family?

It’s your future, choose a wealthy one!

Top 10 variables to Success in Making Money in any MLM/Home-Based Business: The Marketplace

Now we’re at number four on my list of Top 10 variables to Success in Making Money in any MLM/Home-Based Business: The Marketplace

I’m not going to spend too much time breaking this one down. It’s quite simple to understand. What type of marketplace are you trying to build your Home-based business/MLM opportunity? If you are building offline, are you in a marketplace where people are open-minded and progressive?

In my first MLM business I lived in an area of the country I would consider a challenge when it comes to new ideas and building business. There was an “old school” mentality of graduate from high school, get a good job, and stay there until you retire. There were very few people, based on my experience, in this city that ever thought about financial freedom or entrepreneurship. I would mention making money from home through owning a home-based business and people would freak out. Very few people had ever heard of anything like this and were more skeptical than any other group of people I’ve ever encountered. At that time, only one other state ranked lower in terms of activity for this MLM business.

I soon moved to a new city and state were things were completely different. People were more progressive and this city is one of the most culturally diverse and dynamic cities the country. Business moved a lot quicker, and there were many people who were open to the idea of network marketing ang making money from home.

Remember this, if you happen to live in a marketplace that is tough and hard to build business in, it doesn’t mean that you can’t have success. You just have to adjust your marketing strategies to fit with the environment and the thought processes of it’s people. Help open them up to new ideas about life. Find out what their dreams are, and help them realize that they can come true if they’re willing to break away from the mindset and ideas that have held them back in life. Become the maverick of your marketplace! Change is inevitable, don’t let it get away from you! Stay the course and success will come.

To your success,

Stacey

Top 10 variables to Success in Making Money in any MLM/Home-Based Businesses: Financial Stability

Number three on my top 10 variables to Success in Making Money in any MLM/Home-Based Businesses is Financial Stability.

Any successful MLM/Home-based business requires an investment whether it be time, money or resources. Perhaps the most important investment is of course money. Here’s the issue, I believe most people that get involved in a network marketing opportunity do so because they need money, many are desperately seeking a way to keep their car, home, pay bills or to simply put food on the table.

99.9% of people that I have presented my MLM/Home-based business opportunity to were interested in making more money. Their excitment slowly faded as they realized that the opportunity was not simply “sign up and get paid”. An investment must be made to have any significant amount of success. There are necessary expenses whether you market online or offline. Even when an individual begins making money in their network marketing business, it’s important to re-invest money back into the business.

Some examples of necessary expenses for building an MLM/Home-based business are products, marketing materials (i.e. brochures, magazines, product samples, business cards, fliers) fees for meetings and trainings, websites, leads or lead generating systems, travel expenses for conferences, books, cd’s dvd’s, blogsites etc., etc. Now, not all of those things are necessary in the beginning, but it’s important to understand that money must be invested into your business if you want to see any real success.

If a person is not financially stable enough to be able to invest the money necessary to grow their network marketing business they’re at a disadvantage which, once realized, can cause a network marketer to get frustrated and quit.

I had one young lady tell me. “I got into this business to make money not to spent it!” I understood where she was coming from but had to explain to her that although that was the case, she was going to have to invest in her business. She and many others were just not in a position to make the financial investment necessary.

I came across an online system that not only teaches you how to build a successful business online but offers the opportunity to make money just for sharing the same information with others that can and should be re-invested into your business. It’s free to check out and you could end up making hundreds of dollars a month just for sharing with others ways to explode their businesses. It’s truly amazing. You can check it out NOW for FREE!

To your sucess,

Stacey

Top 10 Variables to Success in Making Money in any MLM/Home-based Business:Support

The second variable on my list is Support. Having a strong support system is essential to the success of your MLM/Home-based business. Whether you’re new to the industry or a veteran, knowing that your friends, family and associates believe in what you’re doing makes a difference.

This industry is tough,  especially for those who are new to the MLM/Home-based business industry. However, we all face rejection, doubt, failure, and challenges of all types. Dream stealers are everywhere. Having a strong support system keeps you in the game. When your business hits hard times, and it will, lean on the support of those who believe in you. Ask them to remind you of why you started your network marketing business in the first place. If they are part of your reason, reaffirm you dreams and goals with them.

I’m sure most of you started your business because the idea of making money from home was very appealing. Although this industry is gaining popularity, it is still outside the norm and far from most people’s comfort zones. That brings me to my next point. The support that you may expect to receive from family and friends may never come. The people you are closest to may not see the vision that you see, or have the same goals that you have. Even if they do, the may not think too highly of the MLM/Network marketing industry. If this is your current situation, and your family and/or friends don’t support you, look to your upline/sponsor for support. If your direct upline doesn’t support you or has left the business find out who their sponsor was, and if that doesn’t work, keep searching until you get to the CEO of your company. There will always be someone in your business that you can latch onto for support. If all else fails, some positive books and tapes that I’m sure your company promotes will do the trick.

The main idea here is that you must have support. It is vital to your MLM/Home-based business. If you don’t have support the chance of you quitting your business is increased. Get Support, DON’T Quit!

Be Inspired,

Stacey

Top 10 variables to Success in Making Money in any MLM/Home-Based Business:Level of Skill

Hey Folks,

The first on my list of variables to success in MLM/Home-Based businesses is a person’s Level of Skill. Let me explain.

There are network marketers that are very good at selling. Yes, I know, we don’t sell right? Wrong! We do sell, whether we think so or not. I happen to know a network marketer who is what I would call a Master Salesman. He could sell ice to an eskimo. This person has an advantage over many people because he is very skillful at selling his product/services. Although the opportunity is the same for him as anyone else in the same business, the results will be vastly different.

Here’s another example. There are also people who have a difficult time meeting people and/or building relationships. They’re competent in all other vital areas (i.e. knowing the product, plugging into events, investing time and money) but just aren’t very skillful at exposing people to their MLM/home-based business opportunity on a personal/one on one level.  Skills are learned, not innate. So, although a network marketer may be lacking in a particular skill, they can be learned.

Recognize the areas they you may be weak in and find a business partner or mentor that will invest thier time in helping you strenghthen the skills you need to succeed.

Be inspired.

MLM/Home-based businesses-a great assest for true wealth creation

Hey Folks,

Let’s talk some more about assets. What are assets and why should people want them? In a nutshell, an asset is anything you own that makes you money. People get really confused about assets and what they truly are, but the definition is simple. If it makes you money it’s an asset, if it doesn’t it’s not.

Now there are people who own and live in nice homes. Some may also own a boat, RV, or even a vacation home. They believe that because they own real estate and/or vehicles that they have true assets. Folks, if you’re paying for them, they are NOT an assest. Now they can easily turn into an asset if they are sold at a profit but that’s the only way.

True assests make you money.  Plain and simple.

What does this have to do with MLM, home-based businesses or network marketing? I believe that the network-marketing/MLM industry is widely overlooked as a great way to build assests and wealth!

With the right business opportunity, proper training, and diligence anyone can build a sizeable network marketing business online and/or offline. This can be accomplished without a person quitting their job or profession. It takes patience but making money in a network marketing/home-based business is great asset leveraging!

Imagine going in to work monday morning, working 8 or more hours on the job, only to come home to discover that overnight your MLM/home-based business just earned you more money that you earned all day! What about when this compounds over time. This happens ALL THE TIME in this industry. That is a true asset.

Hold on, I am not advising anyone to quit their job if they find themselves in this scenario, but how comforting would it be to have a business that you would only need to work at part time, that could bring you extra income that matched you curent salary.

Folks, this industry is so overlooked as a means to financial freedom. It shouldn’t be. Times are changing though. With the current economy looking more and more grim, people are looking for ways to make additional money. I couldn’t think of a better way. Sure one could take on a second job but that’s not asset building or leverage, and it violates basic wealth building principles.

Making money in a home-based business/MLM opportunity is a great way to recession-proof your life and build valuable assets.

Take a genuine approach to marketing your MLM opportunity.

Network marketing is viewed by many as a business for suckers. I have heard people call us con-artists and thieves who cheat hard working folks out of their hard earned money and rob them of their dreams. People can be very skeptical about anything network marketers say or do.

I believe this has happened mainly because of people simply not being honest with their prospects and associates. You must address their skepticism immediately and don’t avoid it. I believe it’s the strongest emotion people have in this industry.

Ask questions, address issues and acknowledge their feelings and concerns. Many people who start a home-based business hear crazy claims of enormous success without an emphasis on how hard the work will be. Be honest with them about the failure rate in MLM, but also tell them why it is that way (lack of skills, poor marketing, lack of committment, no time, lack of funds).

Our goal is to increase the believabilityof the opportunity. People like and respect honest and realistic people. When people believe that you are on their side and not out to make a quick $ off of them they will be more open to working with you.

I’m not saying to not promote the financial possibilities of you opportunity. I am saying to be upfront about the challlenges they will face as a multi-level marketer and share with them the resources and solutions that are in place to assist them on their journey to home-based business success.

Understand the benefits of your MLM/Home-based business opportunity.

Hello Folks,

Today is April 16th the day after “tax day”. I’ve been speaking to many people who have shared their experience with me about this year’s tax season. Most of them complained about the fat check they had to send out to the IRS. With a slowing economy, this only hurt their pockets even more. There was a common theme for those who paid Uncle Sam, they all were employees and none of them were business owners.

When I was asked how much I paid, I simply answered truthfully, nothing! In fact I’m expecting a sizeable refund. They looked at me in disbelief and asked how this could be so. The simple answer was that I owned and made money in a home-based business.  Therefore I am eligible for what seems like an unlimited number of tax write-offs. They were perplexed to say the least.

Here’s what it comes down to. When you earn your income as an employee, you pay the government first in the form of taxes, then you get what’s left as your earnings. As a legitimate home-based business owner, you pay your expenses first, then the government.

This is one of the major benefits of owning a home-based business/MLM opportunity, tax relief! It amazes me how many people in the multi-level marketing industry are unaware of this! Since I market my home-based business online, I have the added benefit of writing off all my online marketing expenses.

Now there is a difference between saving money on your taxes by legitimately operating a business and doing it to avoid paying taxes. That’s called Tax Evasion! Don’t do it!

If you currently operate or are considering making money in a home-based business, know what your benefits are!

To your success!
